Abstract
Emotional intelligence, critical thinking, and academic engagement are crucial factors for the academic success and social-emotional learning of university students, but their interrelation has not been thoroughly investigated in Ukraine. The project aimed to explore the impact of emotional intelligence and critical thinking on the state of academic engagement among university students in the English as a foreign language (EFL) learning. The findings contribute to the understanding of the relationships between emotional intelligence and academic engagement and have practical implications for the implementation of critical thinking in L2 classrooms in terms of project-based learning.
